Struggling? In a funk? Me too. Here’s what I’ve learned.

Let’s talk about the part of the growth journey no one likes to admit:

  • 👉The fog.
  • 👉The funk.
  • 👉The flat-out lack of motivation.

Despite all the personal work I’ve done, and all the tools I teach… I still go through these phases. And I’m in one right now.

You know the voice that pops in when things slow down?

  • 📣“What’s wrong with you?”
  • 📣“You should be over this by now.”
  • 📣“Get it together.”

That voice loves to label struggle as failure. But that’s not the Truth.

Struggle is part of the cycle. So is stillness. So is not knowing.

In nature, everything moves through cycles of creation, maintenance, breakdown, and nothingness, and so do we.

This feeling you might be in—unclear, unmotivated, lost—is not a sign something’s wrong. It’s a sign you’re in transition.

🎥In the video linked above, I share a personal reflection on what I’ve learned (and am still learning) about:

  • Why being in a funk triggers self-doubt and harsh inner dialogue
  • What these low-energy phases are really here to teach us
  • And how to shift from judgment to curiosity—without trying to “fix” yourself

While it’s okay to be in the funk, it’s also important to hold a quiet commitment beneath it.

To know deep down that this is temporary, and that something new is unfolding. Growth is still happening—even in stillness.

And… you must be open to growth. Open to knowing that what you’re feeling is temporary, that the voice in your head is telling lies and that your next amazing chapter is coming.

If you hold on to that low energy of being down, depressed, confused, unmotivated, etc., then that’s what will persist.

Feel it. Experience it. Allow it. But don’t be attached to it.

Remember… Every breakdown carries the seed of a breakthrough.

You’re not doing it wrong.

Shifting your mindset and energy during a tough phase is hard. It requires trust, curiosity, and the ability to sit with discomfort without assigning it meaning.

But these are skills you can build, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.

If you’re in a fog, a funk, or just feeling out of sync with yourself…

  • Know that this is not a detour.
  • It’s part of the path.
  • And you’re allowed to pause here.
